What you will do

  • Able to interpret competitive analysis and incorporate into marketing strategy for product or portfolio.
  • Compares, contrasts, and anticipates the different types of competition that will be faced in the future.
  • Monitors market activity, penetration and competitive wins or losses against key competitors.
  • Tailors marketing strategies to meet both current and future customer needs.
  • Maintains relationships with KOLs, and translates insights into current and future business strategy.
  • Deploys resources to measure, monitor, and direct changes to marketing strategy to drive customer engagement.
  • Improves methods for maintaining customer responsiveness.
  • Initiates and drives new products and services based on changing customer needs.
  • Responds to market dynamics and shifts so as to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Authors key strategy documents: strategic plan, annual marketing plan, product launch plans, etc.
  • Gains organizational alignment to the marketing plan with key stakeholders.
  • Drives segmentation methods to improve commercial efficiency.
  • Ensures the product or portfolio's Main and Dynamic variable are consistent with the product or portfolio strategy.
  • Executes on the segmentation variable and seeks evidence that focus on the segmentation variable delivers competitive advantage.
  • Leads the value proposition development work including the following components: customer beliefs and behaviors, main and dynamic variables and reasons to believe brand value.
  • Develops clearly written targeting and positioning statements that align the strategic and executional plans and commercial resources for execution.
  • Identifies opportunities to rationalize, support or extend brands to improve the clarity and energy of the brand/product or portfolio architecture.
  • Rapidly redirects the efforts of the specific product or portfolio to achieve business goals in the face of a changing environment.
  • Determines objectives for evidence generation and evaluates individual studies for alignments with evidence generation strategy
  • Partners with clinical operations to develop a strong clinical evidence generation strategy and key claims
  • Can calculate Customer Lifetime Value for a specific customer type.
  • Understands loyalty composition of the customer base.
  • Understands market dynamics that may impact Marketing Objectives in the future and makes proactive recommendations to marketing strategy anticipating future market.
  • Continually monitors market trends and mentors others on sources of volume and strategic focus.
  • Defines opportunity and estimates effort to target each of the four customer groups: non users, exclusive users, competitive users, multi-brand users.
  • Continually monitors and evaluates current market strategy and makes recommendations on new source of volume strategies.
  • Assesses multi-channel opportunities for diverse products, services, and markets.
  • Advises on key elements of planning and executing a multi-channel sales strategy.
  • Masters both the technical and clinical aspects of the product/product line, and sets the direction for content necessary to pass information to the sales team.
  • Provides clear, strategic and prioritized direction to the field sales organization through written communications, presentations at training meetings and informal interactions
  • Analyzes customer requirements and provides customized technical support or solutions.
  • Evaluates data comparing the organization's products or services to competitor's offerings.
  • Develops sales training curriculum in partnership with Sales Enablement team that is in line with business unit objectives
  • Creates metrics to measure understanding of products and adjusts sales training curriculum to foster continued learning
  • Coaches junior colleagues in choosing proper delivery methods for complicated training situations.
  • Creates training programs for others to recognize, understand and adapt to the communication preferences of customers.
  • Collaborates with other functions to adjust training delivery in light of practical requirements.
  • Effectively uses appropriate benchmarks and documents key assumptions when developing forecasts.
  • Forecasts sales while considering the market, product, and other valuable factors.
  • Initiate and lead PLCM activities for the product or portfolio.
  • Anticipates and drive obsolescence rationalization.
  • Able to perform the economic value analysis to identify key drivers to establish pricing strategy, including contract pricing.
  • Manages price competition for the product or portfolio and assures alignment with overall business unit pricing goals and P&L drivers
  • Designs alternative approaches for determining revenue and profit potential given different pricing approaches.
  • Identifies opportunities to modify pricing strategy based on market conditions and PLCM.
  • Articulates desired communications outcomes consistent with marketing strategy to MarComm team
  • Oversees market fluctuations and the market share of own organization's products and services.
  • Assists in the development of new marketing channels and tools.
  • Establishes metrics and goals/success criteria and milestones.
  • Conducts post-launch analyses and implements lessons learned.
  • Establishes short-range and long-range improvement goals for own function, and develops action plans to achieve those goals.
  • Develops an effective KPI strategy for the business.
  • Evaluates strategy throughout the process and proposes adjustments and enhancements.
  • Establishes metrics to determine if marketing objectives have been effective in driving customer engagement.
  • Develops key criteria for evaluating business performance.
  • Advises others on the relationship between financial, performance and operational data used in business analytics.
  • Mentors, develops and influences across the business, intentionally building cross-divisional relationships.
  • Demonstrates financial acumen.
  • Develops key relationships with industry/market thought leaders, organizations, and institutions, in collaboration with other marketing leaders.
  • Able to routinely make decisions which may affect immediate operations and have a divisional impact.

What you need

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8 years of work experience required
  • 5 years medical device or marketing/sales experience preferred
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established timelines
  • Ability to be persuasive in the absence of organizational authority
  • Must be able to understand and work within complex interdivisional procedures and policies
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

$107,300 - $228,200 salary plus bonus eligible Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Assistance Program, Wellbeing Program, Employee Stock Purchase Program). This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position based on current national data. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
