Stryker is hiring a Program Manager in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

What you will do:

The Program Manager will drive the development and management of project and programs, priorities, and plans in collaboration with project owners, other project managers and key stakeholders across the company.

The primary responsibility is working with business leaders and project owners from different functions (eg., Product Development, Operations, Marketing, Quality and Regulatory) to manage a pipeline of programs/projects, constantly assessing and establishing priorities based on business needs, and developing comprehensive program/project plans which reflect all needs for execution in accordance with project, technical, and business goals, quality and regulatory requirements, manufacturing needs, and time/resource/budget constraints. Responsibilities include preparing detailed development plans for each project or program, monitoring progress against goals, regular analysis and reporting of status across projects and programs, resource assessment, budgeting, planning and management, driving regular project meetings and accountability of stakeholders to assigned tasks/responsibilities, and managing pipeline status and priorities. Individual requirements for this position include experience tracking Product Development design controls phase deliverables involving design and verification of electromechanical components and materials (specifically, plastics, metal, PCB, electronics), software, labeling, packaging, manufacturing transfer, compliance testing and regulatory submissions.

Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with project owners, develop comprehensive project and/or programs plans that capture all necessary requirements, tasks and deliverables that meet all project goals, including, but not limited to: design process needs, technical and testing requirements, quality/regulatory requirements, cost/resource constraints, and desired time to market.
  • Take full ownership of projects from concept/charter through development and transfer to manufacturing operations for production. Drive the project to completion.
  • Strategic planning and assistance in decision making and problem solving
  • Position works across multiple functions: Product Development (mechanical, electrical and software), Technology Development, Marketing, Manufacturing/Operations, Quality, and Regulatory.
  • Regularly assess project progress against plan.
  • Identify potential areas of risk and provide recommendations to manage and/or correct.
  • In conjunction with project owners and business leaders assess pipeline project priorities on regular basis, making changes as warranted by business needs.
  • Provide regular project updates to senior management.
  • Develop detailed plan of project deliverables, needs, resources, expenditures. Leverage this resource for a communication “dashboard” for project progress, status.
  • Execute on a comprehensive project management process and associated tools that will be used across company and potentially by contracting partners.
  • Drive accountability of respective stakeholders in any/all projects for timely execution of project deliverables.
  • Take ownership of project budget and resourcing, monitor, report and find creative ways to stay within budget.

What you need:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree program in engineering or engineering management with 5-8 years of proven success. Experience working with electronic medical devices preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years proven track record in Project Management and launch of comprehensive product lines on time and on budget.
  • Technical depth in systems engineering or in a fundamental engineering discipline such as mechanical, EE etc.
  • Familiar with Design Control requirements as mandated by FDA CFR’s.
  • Strong documentation skills and experience working with design controls and procedures.
  • Familiar with the full product development lifecycle (i.e., concept to launch) and preferably experience managing a full program to launch.
  • Very strong communication and organizational skills to drive awareness, execution, and decision making in a small, fast-moving, and nimble organization.
  • Ability to coordinate and track multiple projects simultaneously with overlapping deliverables and dates with strategic planning.
  • Must be able to drive accountability to project commitments across all project stakeholders through professional, respectful, productive communication and interaction.
  • Experience working with project management software tools preferred (eg. MS Project, Liquid Planner, Team Services, etc.).
  • Experience working on international projects with cross country development teams
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

Working conditions: Up to 20% travel
