Responsibilities
The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for the overall project planning, management and oversight of capital funded construction projects across the Mercy Health Services continuum, which includes Mercy's downtown Baltimore campus as well its ambulatory network across the surrounding counties. The Senior Construction Project Manager will report to and support the Senior Director for Capital Projects.
* The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for delivery of buildouts from ground-up, as well expansions, renovations and improvements. The ideal candidate will manage the development of the project from conception through to completion, in accordance with program objectives. Provide leadership and resolution of complex project related issues. Lead project initiation, design, budgeting, construction, compliance logistics and have oversight of all components of the construction project, including fit out of furniture, equipment and I.T, move coordination and full accountability for maintaining schedule and opening on time for first patient day.
* Providing day-to-day project leadership and decision making on critical project issues as they pertain to project scope, value, schedule, budget, methodology and resources and managing project team communication
* The Senior Construction Project Manager will have oversite over the architects and engineers, and work closely with other departments within the organization, such as Finance, Clinical Engineering, Plant Maintenance, Quality and Patient Safety.
* The Senior Construction Project Manager will regularly collaborate with stakeholders and provide timely and accurate updates to internal team members and senior leadership regarding project status, budget and schedule.
* The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning and lead of construction progress meetings, interdisciplinary and end user project teams.
* The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for the review of contracts, cost estimates and must be adept at negotiations and holding construction costs and change orders to a minimum.
Requirements
Education/Experience/Training
* BA or BS in Construction management, engineering or architecture
* 7-15 Years' experience managing healthcare construction projects
* Advanced construction project management skills
* Knowledge and ability to creatively resolve issues as they arise
* Strong working knowledge of architectural/engineering drawings and construction concepts
* High proficiency with general Microsoft applications, including MS Project and use of Adobe Blue Beam.
* Demonstrated experience with project management software and applications like Procore.
* Ability to forecast project challenges and motivate team to develop solutions to keep the project on track, on schedule and on budget.#OfficeNonMed
