In order to most effectively prevent injuries in a given operational environment, we work closely with each client across many dedicated and leading-edge teams, including client services, data and engineering, IT security and others. Each safety program is tailored to the needs of the workers on the ground and the managers who oversee them, including what types of safety wearables and attachment options will suit them best, and the look and cadence of the safety reports that we’ll provide. The result is an actionable and scalable safety solution that seamlessly becomes part of a facility’s daily routine and is proven to prevent workplace injuries by as much as 64% across hundreds or thousands of Industrial Athletes.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Ergonomics algorithm domain expert who identifies high value processes and problems, defines them as data science problems with clear assumptions, objectives, and accuracy requirements. 

Accelerate Industrial Athlete safety by developing and designing customized machine learning algorithms from first principles. Utilize advanced modeling and optimization methods to create actionable insights in sparse, noisy, highly complex, and uncertain process spaces. Design and implement generalizable and scalable algorithms, define specification for productization and deployment. 

Effectively communicate highly complex analytical concepts and insights to audiences outside the organization with varying degrees of expertise and leadership. Collaborate with internal groups to analyze and make conclusions for actionable intelligence from experimental data. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop & test algorithms for regression and classification of ergonomic movements such as forward bend, side bend, twist, and tilt, which will be ported to embedded programming languages. 
• Develop algorithms for sensor positioning, which will be ported to the data pipeline.
• Iterate quickly on the end-to-end performance of our algorithmic stack, leveraging a wide variety of skill sets.
• Communicate your ideas with the team through code, white papers, graphs, charts and animations as needed.
• Working closely with embedded and software engineering leads determining system requirements in production for all algorithms developed. 
• Work with the data analytics team to train them on how to set alerting parameters for various customers and job types. 
• Work with quality engineers to develop testing to determine accuracy, precision, and efficiency of developed algorithms. 
• Work with firmware engineers, data pipeline engineers, dev-ops, and quality to translate algorithms into staging, production, and ultimately customer deployment. 
• Define how to scale algorithms for the growing client base, to ensure optimization resources to execute algorithms at scale.
• Ability to design simulations to test designed algorithms. 
• Analyzing and manipulating large new datasets from potential customers to fit our data schema.
• Apply advanced methods, theories, and techniquest for algorithms development
• Document innovations and write up patent descriptions.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong Python programming competency.
• Deep expertise in 3D Geometry.
• Algorithmic thinking ability.
• Technical - machine learning, supervised & unsupervised learning, and semi-supervised learning experience may be useful. Techniques used may include: classification, kNN, signature based algorithms, and association rule learning. 
• Familiar with standard CS data structures and algorithms.
• Working experience with artificial intelligence (AI) and/or machine learning (ML) is a plus.
• Mathematical optimization is a plus. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 3 years of algorithmic development experience.
• Master’s or PhD degree in a STEM degree or Mathematics.
• Previous work experience on time-series data, sensor fusion data (e.g. - accelerometry).
• RF or signal processing experience.
• Physiology or ergonomics background.
• Pattern recognition.
• Prior experience working in small teams or even solo with ill defined tasks.
• Energetic, adaptable, excited to work on new problems.
• Building rapid prototypes for technical Proof-of-Concept (PoCs) to support large enterprise sales.
