Job Title: Life Enrichment Assistant Full Time ___

Department: Activities Part Time ___

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule : Varies Based On Schedule Requirements

Reports To: Activities Director Level : Entry

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting with the implementation of activities and related services to meet the recreational and transportation needs of residents to create an enriching and positive environment.

STANDARD REQUIREMENTS

  • Is knowledgeable of resident’s rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for privacy, dignity, and well-being and grounds to ensure a safe, functioning, and attractive physical environment.
  • Support and cooperates with specific procedures and programs for:
  • * Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.

  • Confidentiality of all data including resident, employee, and operations data
  • Quality improvement and compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Compliance with current law and policy to provide work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal discriminatory behavior.
  • Supports and participates in common teamwork:
  • * Cooperates and works together with all co-workers

  • Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional issues
  • Follows up as appropriate with supervisors, coworkers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns.
  • Completes requirements for in in-service training , acceptable attendance , uniform, and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.

ESSTINAL DUTIES AND REPSONBILTIES:

  • Adheres to policies, operating procedures, Strive Senior Living Core Values, and the Mission Statement
  • Assist in the development of a monthly calendar of events that meets the needs and interests of the residents.
  • Participate in planning and implementing a quality activity program that addresses the needs, and prior lifestyle and preferences of the residents
  • Assists frail and dementia impaired residents to encourage participation in activities.
  • Chauffer residents as needed to event and meals.
  • Demonstrate a courteous, polite, and friendly attitude with residents, Families, and visitors.
  • Conduct Activities with enthusiasm to motivate and excite residents.
  • Aid with all meals. Examples include handing out drinks, plates of food, refilling drinks, handing out silverware.
  • Also provides support to the care team where needed to ensure smooth operation of our sanctuary neighborhood.
  • Provides any necessary documentation to the Activities Director as needed.

EDUCATION : CERTIFICATION : LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required

WORK EXPERIENCE : SKILL SET REQUIREMENTS

  • Prefer prior experience in AL, IL, or SNF.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Require ability to read, speak, and write English clearly
  • Require attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Resident care philosophy with a focus on providing the highest level of quality service and professional interaction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Individual is required to perform standing, walking, squatting, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. during the shift
  • This position is primarily in an office environment. Exposure to mechanical moving parts as part of operating office equipment and ultraviolet light may occur.
  • Individual is required to dress and maintain a professional appearance during the shift.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Basic computer Skills including Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) and other programs assigned to the department.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardized exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
