Experienced NICET Certified Fire Protection Sprinkler Designer

Strickland Fire Protection LLC is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Sprinkler Designer to join their growing team out of the Washington, DC area.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5-7 years’ experience with Fire Protection Design
• NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems
• Demonstrated ability with AutoSPRINK program
• Knowledge and applicability of NFPA codes
• Proven ability of performing work in a timely manner and meeting critical deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong mathematic and analytical skills
• Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager
• Self-motivated and ability to make independent decisions with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to travel to job sites and attend meetings

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing construction contract documents and coordinate with subcontractors and General Contractors/Owners to gather the required information to design project fire sprinkler systems.
• Maintain contract documents throughout the life of the project and ensure changes from bulletins, addendums, ASI’s, CCD’s, etc. are addressed and processed
• Coordinate with other internal departments to ensure proper receipt and handover of job design information, both from Sales to Design and Design to Field
• Thorough use of analytical thinking and problem solving to determine construction feasibility and systems possibilities
• Create detailed drawings through extensive use of the AutoSPRINK program
• Perform hydraulic calculations and seismic bracing calculations
• Coordinate design drawings with other building components via job site meetings or 3D/BIM software and Navisworks
• Create fabrication lists for all material required throughout the project
• Perform field surveys without supervision
• Communicate with contractors and subcontractors to gather documentation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
