Position Summary

The Software Developer is responsible for supporting all facets of the software and systems development lifecycle within the studio. Responsibilities include but not limited to design, code, implementation, testing, reporting, documenting, deploying, and debugging operations as necessary. The role will have opportunity to contribute to the strategic planning of reporting efficiencies, planned production system improvements, optimizing for cost improvements in the data and technical area.

Essential Functions

• Assist in maintenance and enhancement of existing codebase.
• Collaborate with team in design and development of new code supporting workflow and application integration.
• Review of Development design scope and deployment of new or modified script.
• Modifies, writes, and documents workflow systems applications.
• Completes patches and enhancements.
• Assist in developing specifications and plans for innovative designs using Adobe Photoshop backend programming and script writing.
• Designs and code solutions, graphical user interfaces if required, and interfaces with other systems.
• Supports an always-available platform.
• Performs coding according to technical specifications and development standards of given project.
• Participates in code reviews.
• Communicates ideas for improving department processes with a positive and collaborative attitude.
• Performs quality control on image file and data management systems daily.
• Supports technical production staff as needed.
• Handles multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring seamless execution through stellar organizational and documentation skills.
• Designs and develop user interfaces to internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests.
• Ensures processes meet requirements and provide adjustments when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Software) or equivalent education and experience
• 2-4 years of experience in programming, developing and implementing software applications
• Advance in Adobe Photoshop programming, JavaScript, Python, Ruby or other similar languages
• Experience in using Git, GitHub, or other source control technology
• Solid understanding of API principles
• Knowledge of Test Driven and Development practices
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and detailed understanding of coding
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, specifically Word and Excel. Within Excel, the candidate should be able at a minimum to execute a search, sort a list by applying multiple filter settings, populate a new column of data in an existing spreadsheet, and manage file conversions among CSV and text-based files to Excel.
• Must have an excellent ability to problem solve and creatively respond to set needs.
• Must have proficient necessary math skills and the ability to read, write, and speak English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional program certification in Java, Python, C , Ruby, PHP
• Strong attention to details with ability to focus on a repetitive task and consistently accurate entry of data.
• Solves non-routine problems in collaboration with his or her manager; takes initiative to modify procedures and processes as appropriate and makes contributions that impact work team results.
• Demonstrated planning skills and the ability to prioritize using information around due dates, clients, internal resource skill sets, and when to escalate for assistance and awareness.
• Ability to work both independently and within a changing team.
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedules.
• Experience with ShotFlow and ProWorkflow.
• Respectful and courteous when interacting with others, a calm and collaborative demeanor is expected when working through conflict. You will always professionally present the studio and yourself. The expectation is to balance listening and talking, writing clearly, and accurately any decisions.

Benefits

The salary range for this full-time position is $75,000-$85,000, commensurate with experience and skills.
