SUMMARY

Design, develop, and code new system and programming functions in an AS400 environment using RPG III/IV, Free and CL Languages. Develop Technical and Programming specifications from Functional Specification documents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyze and develop technical and programming specifications for both functional and technical requirements
  • Develop and administer RPG and CL standards
  • Maintain program and system documentation
  • Assist Systems Analysts in the definition and problem resolution of new and existing requirements
  • Code, test, debug and document RPG/400 and CL programs within a structured methodology
  • Train I.S. Staff on new and modified programs and procedures
  • Co-ordinate, monitor and manage outstanding tasks
  • Assist IS Staff with problem investigation and resolution
  • Complete any tasks the Manager deems appropriate

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • Three to Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Programmer Analyst)

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Minimum three years experience as a programmer/analyst
  • Minimum three years experience with RPG III or RPG/400
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process
  • Knowledge of automotive industry experience a plus
  • Project management experience
