Shift Supervisor – Full Time, 3rd shift

Marson Foods is a family owned and operated premier manufacturer of delicious quality waffle products for K12 Education and Foodservice in Carson City.

We are adding a 3rd shift to our team, with a Monday – Friday, 9 pm to 5:30 am schedule.Mandatory overtime is required on an as needed basis and attendance is critical to our success.

Starting pay is $30 an hour, plus $1 shift differential

You will report to the Production Manager who is passionate about the products and the team. This is a hands-on position and each of your coworkers will be the best at what they do, and they will be the best teammates you’ve ever had. Position Description

Shift Supervisor will assist and supervise the preparation of ingredients and the production of finished products, in addition to supporting and maintaining a clean operational food production work environment.

As a Shift Supervisor employee you will:

· Oversee receiving inventory.

· Prepare products for shipment, palletizing and working with carriers for pick-up.

· Maintain proper inventory levels.

· Maintain accuracy of product labels for customer orders.

· Check ingredients and inventory for proper amounts and quality.

· Ensures proper sanitation and cleanliness of the production floor and other areas of the facility.

· Train staff and new employees; ensure proper employee conduct and employee requirements (i.e., adherence to safety standards, proper licensing is current as needed, comprehensive training, adherence to food handling requirements and goals, etc.).

· Manage departmental employees which includes management of work assignments, monitoring performance, handling complaints, taking necessary disciplinary action, distributing work, and determining best work practices while monitoring direct reports’ responsibilities, progress, and job skills.

· Implement and monitor legal compliance measures as documented in the company’s employee handbook and policies/procedures.

· Enforces best GMP best practices for a safe food and plant environment. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

· Promote effective communication.

· Assist others as requested or assigned.

· Perform related duties as required.

· Maintain professional and courteous appearance and demeanor.

Qualifications include:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Minimum: 5 years of previous shift supervisory experience; prefer experience in food manufacturing

· Familiarity with Food Safety, Food Defense, and knowledge of HACCP and GMP practices and procedures.

· Must demonstrate high level of food manufacturing knowledge with ability to manage employees in a baking environment.

· Proficient with manufacturing and baking equipment. Experience operating a forklift is preferred.

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and in a calm and pleasant manner.

· High level of organization and attention to detail.

· Strong management, delegation and leadership skills and speaking abilities; effective problem-solving skills and ability to share skills and knowledge with others.

· Ability to read and write checklists, reports, and correspondence. Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, memos, etc.

· Ability to analyze and perform complex computations with reasonable speed and accuracy. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Lift up to 50lbs

· Reliable transportation.

Certifications

· May use machinery, such as forklifts, to load orders.
