Role Overview: 

As the Safety Manager you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and continuously adjusting our ever-evolving safety procedures, best practices, and operations to ensure a safe, productive, and people-first work environment for all Storyteller Overland employees. Our safety mission is simple, no team member ever loses a limb or their life. 

We are looking for an experienced individual who can provide subject matter expertise and who is passionate about creating substantial and comprehensive safety programs to support our workforce while they are building the best in-class adventure vans and trucks on the planet. This person will also be a brand ambassador within our vibrant community of vanlifers, adventure seekers, and outdoor enthusiasts.

General Responsibilities including such things as: 

• Evaluate current safety practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to safety regulations,
• Plan, implement, and maintain preventative environmental and operational safety and health programs for all Storyteller sticks and bricks locations,
• Provide safety guidance to our operations teams by conducting safety meetings and audits which will include inspections to ensure compliance, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing follow up assessments, 
• Ensure each manufacturing plant fulfills industry, local, state, and federal safety guidelines and regulations,
• Collaborate with Leadership to develop and implement a variety of Emergency Action Plan(s)/ Business Continuity Plan(s) including but not limited to; inclement weather, active shooter, workplace violence, etc. 
• Serve as the primary point of contact for site injury/incident notifications, investigations, and case management, 
• Partner with Operations and Engineering leadership to ensure that all work is performed in alignment with our ultimate Safety Vision,
• Maintain a log of all safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence, 
• Report on all health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics while recommending solutions for improvement opportunities and new prevention measures,
• Oversee the worker’s compensation program and all OSHA compliance standards,
• Contribute to the overall success of the People & Culture team by co-elevating with all team members through collaboration, cooperation, and camaraderie,
• All other duties as assigned. 

Work Schedule:

• Flexible: Generally Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Work Location:

• All STO Manufacturing Locations off of Lakeshore Parkway which will include 25 West Park Drive, 109 West Park Drive , and 428 Industrial Lane 

Compensation: 

• Starting @ 77k Incentives Rewards

Qualifications/Skills:

• Deep understanding of OSHA Compliance and EPA standards
• Woker’s Compensation Experience
• Ability to create, establish, and train teams on regulatory guidelines
• Strong interpersonal skills including leadership ability, conflict management, and problem-solving skills 
• Ability to influence and persuade others
• Comfortable creating and producing reports including risk assessments, emergency response plans, workman’s compensation analysis, among other reports

Education and Experience: 

• 3 years of proven experience as a Safety Officer or Manager 
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering or related discipline required
• MBA Preferred 
• Manufacturing experience preferred 
• Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA are required 
• ASP, GSP, and/or CSP Certifications are a plus
