STOPSO is Hiring a Financial Analyst Near Washington, DC

Brief Overview of Position:

Strategic Operational Solutions (STOPSO) is seeking candidates for a Financial Analyst position to support a DHS client where we are focused on delivering innovative operations and solutions through proven successful methods. This person will serve as a backup to the Project Manager (PM). The ideal applicant is versatile, with a broad background and demonstrated ability to produce quality work. You must be comfortable in a challenging, collaborative, multi-tasking, dynamic, high-tempo, deadline-intensive environment with a flexible work schedule supporting multiple customers.

Description of Duties:

  • Plans, supports and provides advisor/contributions in complex and critical efforts which include specific functional, technical, professional or policy areas of the project. Key responsibilities include: Investigating or identifying business, scientific, technology, engineering, operational, professional and/or policy issues; conducting analysis of these issues; and providing advice in support of major programs/projects.
  • Budget/Contract Management is responsible for funds control, funds certification of commitments and obligations, processing of Intra Governmental Payment and Collection (IPACs) and commercial invoices, accounting, of capital assets, reimbursable program financial management and the generation of internal and external financial reports.

Analyst will provide the following support to the Acquisitions Branch:

  • Evaluate, document, and improve current business processes and reporting
  • Remediate weaknesses in the processes, data and reporting in the current financial management systems
  • Accept and establish reimbursable agreements and accounts
  • Conduct on-going reviews of reimbursable accounts
  • Reconcile reimbursable accounts with trading partners
  • Resolve financial discrepancies with trading partners
  • Close out reimbursable accounts
  • Develop reimbursable budget authority estimates
  • Maintain reimbursable accounting standard operating procedures
  • Develop formulation documentation
  • Develop formulation replies to Office
  • Develop CBJB documentation and maintain CBJB/IPBS files 

Education, Experience, and Security Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Top Secret Clearance; ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability
  • At least 6 years of experience; 4-5 years as a financial analyst
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to lead a collaborative team in completing projects
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills, to include presentation development for senior ranking Government officials
