The Line Leader is responsible for ensuring parts meet visual customer requirements by comparing production to both the ‘visual master part’ and the ‘key features master part’. The Line Leader relies on the Gager’s feedback regarding part dimensional and color/gloss customer requirements. If the Line Leader identifies production does not meet customer requirements, stop and fix! If unable to diagnose and/or fix the issue, the Line Leader will contact their Supervisor for assistance.
The Line Leader is 100% responsible for making sure the Operators not only have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform their job successfully, but must also ensure Operators are correctly following the standard work instructions for their assigned jobs. In addition, the Line Leader is responsible for making sure the Operator understands the next person to touch their parts is the customer… and a disappointed customer means we fail while a happy customer means we succeed!
