Primary Functions (What)
- Deploy IT tools to users
- Provide application and systems support to users
- Work with developers to enhance quality and reduce support requirements.
The I.T. Help Desk Specialist provides support (including after hours) to users. A key focus of this position is to reduce overall support requirements by providing user education, developing process documentation, identifying more stable/efficient systems and solutions, and working with developers to identify and address potential problems prior to application/update deployment. The I.T. Help Desk Specialist will setup IT equipment and provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for end users.
Desired Qualifications
- IT support experience and/or Help Desk experience
- Graduated, or plans to enroll for an I.T. Degree (2 or 4 year)
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux-based operating systems (Ubuntu preferred)
- Foundational knowledge of database systems, SQL queries, and report generation
- Critical thinking and analytical problem solving abilities
- Basic Active Directory user administration, Windows Server file and print services administration
- Basic understanding of software development and application testing processes
- Working skill with Symantec Endpoint Protection, VMware, PostreSQL and Microsoft SQL databases
- Understanding of Internet Information Server, MS Exchange, and SharePoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with little direction and highly motivated
- IT industry and vendor certifications
Duties mainly performed sitting at a desk. Standing, walking, and carrying tech equipment involved in responding to IT issues out on the production floor and in the front office.

Work Environment
Approximately 60 percent office and 40 percent production floor. May required limited evening and weekend hours.
