SHIPPING/INVENTORY SPECIALIST

(Previous working experience with shipping and inventory management software (i.e.,Oracle, MVP or similar MRP)

This position is responsible to learn all shipping/receiving functions of the plant. This person will be responsible to coordinate and document all inbound and outbound freight shipments.
Kilgore, Texas
Monday - Friday
Pay $15 - $17/hr. DOE
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible to schedule shipments, prepare necessary documentation, and record shipment of inventory.
· Responsible for receiving/paperwork entry in Oracle and verification of items received.
· Assist in unloading coil trucks using the overhead crane, unwrapping, and weighing each one for Oracle entry.
· Generate BOL and all necessary shipping paperwork including, packaging labels, dock receipts and pick tickets.
· Reviews delivery schedule w/carriers as appropriate and arranges all carrier pick-ups using 3rd party logistics group web-based software (Recon).
· Responsible to generate/maintain correct labeling and accurate counts of material.
· Continually update and maintain the trailer status and location on the property.
· Provides backup and ensures material handling coverage
· Communicate with scheduling, customer service & Materials Mgmt. personnel to adjust shipping schedules based upon production capacity, customer modifications or material supply requirements.
· Work closely with and provide shipping schedule & trailer assignments to the shipping Lead and assists in the completion the trailer load verification process as required.
· Work closely with Materials Manager to maintain inventory levels on inbound materials.
· Manages non-inventory levels on consumable inventory (strapping, bags, corrugated, dividers, etc.)
· Ensure all proper housekeeping is completed for specific workstation and surrounding area of the shipping department.
· Understands and completes the quality procedures and trailer load verification process.
· Works with all other plant personnel to ensure efficient operation of the plant and receiving of shipments/material.
· Ensure all safety requirements are in place and maintained.
· Assist Plant General Manager and Pail Line Manager with any other duties or responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
· Previous working experience with shipping and inventory management software (i.e.,Oracle, MVP or similar MRP)
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office software
· Forklift certified (3-5 years Forklift experience)
· CDL license or trailer spotting experience is a plus.
· Possesses a strong organizational, critical thinking, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
· Basic math, writing and reasoning skills, ability to work independently required
· Ability to successfully coordinate multiple activities and work in tandem with others
· This person must be physically able to lift 50 pounds, bend, crawl over, under and around the machinery as needed.
