Job Description A Teaching Assistant will be hired to facilitate IDE 402 Senior Innovation III: Venture Planning and Pitch to aid the course coordinator and professors with leading students through their course work. IDE 402 meets on Fridays, but work is expected to last throughout the week. Certain tasks focused on arranging and maintaining students, teams, and course sections may be asked of the Teaching Assistant by the SES Director of Undergraduate Studies and SES Assistant Director of Core Engineering and Science Education from time to time, when those duties do not interfere with their other roles. Activities: Assisting course coordinator with course section logistics and Ansary Entrepreneurship Competition setup Facilitating Slack channels (or similar messaging service) and YouTube channels (or other video sharing service) in preparation for the Ansary Entrepreneurship Competition Attending the Innovation Expo to facilitate the Ansary Entrepreneurship Competition Assisting adjunct professors with day-to-day requests regarding course continuity Monitoring student / student team progress throughout the semester Other duties (within reason) as directed by the IDE 402 Course Coordinator, Assistant Director of Core Engineering and Science Education, and Director of Undergraduate Studies This position is for currently enrolled, full-time status, Graduate students at Stevens Institute of Technology. This is a part-time, hourly position for 10 ~ 20 hours per week during the semester. This is a semesterly appointment for IDE 402 only. Being hired for one course/semester does predicate hiring for any other courses in any semester. This is a project-based class with heavy emphasis placed on the tools needed to successfully communicate a project / business idea and therefore succeed as a modern engineer. An excellent candidate is a student passionate about engineering who is interested in sharing that passion with others. They should have a “customer service mindset” as many projects may need attention at once. Students with prior teaching experience and/or service in the School of Engineering and Science are highly encouraged to apply. Prior experience with Microsoft Office and Canvas is preferred. Though this application is open to all Graduate students at Stevens Institute of Technology, AMP students pursuing a Master’s degree in the School of Engineering and Science or the School of Systems and Enterprises are expected to find the best fit.
