Overview
Stellar Solutions is seeking a System Engineer to work on an exciting, fast-paced program in the Fort Belvoir, VA area. This position provides subject matter expertise (SME) to customers in ground and vehicle systems design, integration, and testing; cloud application, Agile development and delivery.
Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications
The successful candidate will also provides process analysis and design; analytic insight into system design, engineering and integration challenges, and system performance issues.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for system engineering and technical execution of projects that cover hardware/software system development, test and final integration on customer platforms
- Participate in working groups, engineering review boards, design reviews, test readiness reviews, and operational readiness reviews as a reviewer; provides government with unbiased analysis, recommendations, courses of action
- Reviews programs for risks and opportunities; delivers mitigation or exploitation approaches
- Evaluates system readiness for integration into an operational baseline
- Review, assess and provide recommendations to the government on Request for Changes (RFCs)
- Collaborate with SETA team members, senior government leadership, and program offices in understanding system schedule, readiness, and risks
- Evaluate and assess milestones, provide feedback to the customer on capabilities meeting requirements
- Coordinate with engineers from various contractors and government organizations; prepare and present briefings to customer on technical topics when requested
Required Qualifications
- Experience in satellite and/or ground system operations, integration and test; operational readiness process
- Program lifecycle experience from concept development and design to deployment and operational maintenance
- Familiar with systems engineering and systems development processes
- Experience with CONOPS, requirements development, interface control documentation, technical specification review, architecture development
- Strong data analysis and data visualization skills
- Polished communicator and proven collaborator; demonstrated ability to coordinate across all levels of government to ensure contracts effectively deliver required services and capabilities
- Self-starter, proactively addresses customer requirements with no supervision; expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics
- Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Poly
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with National Reconnaissance Office (NRO)
- Experience in mission operations environment – ops tempo, performance characterization, utility analysis, system calibrations
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, Model Based Systems Engineering/Digital Engineering and associated tools (e.g. Cameo, Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Familiarity with AWS or C2S DevSecOps
- Industry certifications (e.g. PMP, CSEP, AWS, etc.)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) field – contract requirement; nine (9) years or more experience
