The State of New Hampshire, Department of Administrative Services, Division of Public Works has a full-time vacancy for an Electrical Project Manager IV.

Summary: Performs professional administrative electrical engineering functions involving the design and construction of Public Works projects.

18 Months of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree

36 Months of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Possession of a Master of Science degree from a recognized college or university with a major concentration in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering or architecture.

Experience : Five years of post-baccalaureate experience in the practice of engineering or architecture with at least four years' experience in managing the more difficult phases of engineering or architectural work.

OR

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering or architecture.

Experience: Seven years of post-baccalaureate experience in the practice of engineering or architecture with at least four years' experience in managing the more difficult phases of engineering or architectural work.

OR

Education: Possession of an Associate's degree from a recognized college or university, with a major study in civil, mechanical, electrical or architectural technology.

Experience: Seven years of experience in the practice of engineering at a level equivalent to Public Works Project Manager I (or higher), plus two additional years of experience in a position comparable to an Engineering Technician, with at least four years of experience in managing the more difficult phases of engineering work. Thirteen years of experience in a position comparable to an Architectural Technician under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Architect, plus one year of experience involving special responsibilities in the more difficult aspects of architectural work.

License/Certification: Registered Professional Engineer in New Hampshire. Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities:

Directs, supervises, and reviews the activities of a design group to ensure compliance with Federal and State policies for electrical engineering projects.

Communicates and coordinates plans and policies with Federal, State, and local agencies, other Department bureaus, public utilities, consultant firms and the general public to accomplish Bureau goals and objectives.

Monitors design progress and assigns priorities of electrical engineering efforts in order to meet established project schedules.

Develops more effective work methods, administrative procedures and engineering standards to increase efficiency and obtain improved electrical solutions.

Write electrical engineering documents and reviews estimates essential to Public Works construction contracts.

Establishes and maintains cooperation among subordinates in order to foster a professional work atmosphere.

Coordinates design of electrical engineering systems with architectural, structural, civil, and mechanical systems.

Maintains continuous quality improvement initiative to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality output while ensuring responsibilities to the Department’s mission.

Other incidental duties required of this position as assigned by a supervisor.
