Central Finance delivers financial expertise to 13 Divisions within the Department of Administrative Services (DAS). Our financial team provides Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) services as well as budgetary monitoring and financial analysis. We are seeking an Accountant I who will work with the financial team focusing on Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Job duties include enter, analyze, review/pre-audit and approve various expenditure payment types, journal entries, deposits and other AP and AR transactions as needed. Enter and valid data in various billing systems/databases. Generate, extract, compile, organize, and analyze financial data from vouchers, ledgers, journals and other accounting documents and databases to develop and prepare spreadsheets, reports, statements and other financial documents or files. Assist members of the financial support team including the Budget Analysts. This position will communicate with vendors, agency personnel and other agencies to answer inquiries and clarify any matters that maybe in question. Other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification. REQUIREMENTS: Post high school coursework or vocational education in accounting, finance, business administration or related field OR experience performing accounting functions including interpreting and analyzing financial data.
