Quality Improvement Specialist KCRO

Division of Developmental Disabilities - Kansas City Regional Office

Salary: $2,070.21 Semi-Monthly ($49,684.96 Annually)

Typical working hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Hybrid Schedule Option available upon completion of training.

We are recruiting a qualified professional to join our Quality Enhancement Team at the Kansas City Regional Office (KCRO), Missouri Department of Mental Health / Division of Developmental Disabilities (DMH/DD). The Quality Enhancement Team monitors and reviews the health, safety, rights, data integrity, and quality of services for individuals receiving supports and services. This is professional administrative work involving the coordination, implementation, and review of quality assurance processes for specialized or community-based services. Team members are expected to exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative in the performance of duties.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring the health/safety/rights and quality of services for individuals receiving supports and services,
  • Participating in and/or facilitating quality assurance committees (Due Process, Mortality Review, etc.),
  • Working with various state trackers, databases and other state processes,
  • Participating in the development/analysis of trend reports (regional quality enhancement plan, provider data reports, etc.),
  • Monitoring provider data, submitting annual reports, as well as quarterly reports as needed,
  • Assuring data integrity within various databases utilized by the Quality Enhancement Team
  • Tracking contacts/complaints from Office of Constituent Services, assuring pertinent information and resolution of issues,
  • Reviewing event management reports, assessing data integrity related to consumer safety,
  • Working closely with QE/RN’s to assure health/safety and assess health related patterns and trends,
  • Collaborating with regional and statewide team members and other stakeholders for internal/external communication and follow-up,
  • Participating with regional processes for improvement initiatives,
  • Assisting with coordinating trainings and/or offering technical assistance for stakeholders related to quality assurance processes,
  • Facilitating NCI (National Core Indicator Surveys) and QSR (Quality of Service Reviews) process,
  • Participating in a multidisciplinary team approach to problem-solve issues.

  • Utilize and to develop computer skills, (use of systems and databases),
  • Demonstrate the following to contribute to the overall success of the quality team: Effective communication and organizational skills, strong work ethic, interpersonal, learning / adaptability skills.

Typical Qualifications: Master’s Degree and three or more years of relevant experience.
