The Work You Will Do:

This position is the HR / Training Liaison for the Division of Water Resource Management, handling the daily operations of all administrative HR assignments. In this position you will track and ensure all training opportunities are shared to the Division and all new hires attend the required New Employee Orientation (NEO). This position plays a critical role in the HR and trainings needs of the Division. In this position, you will meet and ensure all New Hires are welcomed into the Division and complete all the required training. You will assist the Division Program Managers with their staff, as needed, and ensure their positions are advertised and filled in a timely manner. You will be the HR contact between the Division and the Bureau of Human Resources, handling employee requests as they arise.

Pay:

$45,000.00 - $55,000.00/annually (Commensurate with experience)

Your Specific Responsibilities:

  • This is a confidential administrative position, working independently, requiring knowledge of Personnel Rules, DEP Directives, policies, and procedures.
  • Preparing all Division Changes to Authorized position forms.
  • Handling all Personnel action(s) or Change requests.
  • Recruitment functions
  • Handling the Attendance and Leave within the Division, including LWOP.
  • Distributing pay warrants, as needed
  • Responsible for onboarding and offboarding employees.
  • Maintains filing system for all Division personnel documents.
  • Divisions Award Representative
  • Serves as the Division’s Training Liaison, shares upcoming training opportunities to the Division, tracks and ensures new employees attend the New Employee Orientation (NEO), and attend monthly training liaison meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the State computer programs such as OCULUS.
  • Knowledge of the People First system.
  • Knowledge of methods of data collections and analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of Personnel Rules, DEP Directives, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to college, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of operations and manager practices.
  • Ability to use personal computers and software programs such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver license.

Required or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited university or college and one-year of verifiable related experience; or Any combination of post-secondary education or verifiable related experience, as described in this posting, for a total of three years.

Other Job-Related Requirements for this position:

  • Valid Driver License.
