Job Description

To provide application alternatives and enhancement options for improved Application Development, Maintenance and Production Support events and activities. Systematic and methodical investigation and analysis of all or part of a business area in terms of business functions and processes, and the information they use across applications. Identifies and examines effective solutions to business functions and processes. Acts as a bridge between business and the IT development teams for Run The Bank enhancements that need code changes. Evaluates underlying business architecture and conducts investigations, risk assessments, and proposes and creates requirements for incident solutions and necessary changes to existing procedures and technology. Quality Assurance of Testing Plans and scenarios of such changes. Conduct post implementation validation and reviews. Provide Run The Bank Subject Matter Expertise as well as Project Support for Business Applications. Assist in planning the implementation of project deliverables into production to minimise (preferably eliminate) impact to the production system.

Thorough understanding of the IT end to end processes and functions Must have experience with the configuration and maintenance of IT systems. Must understand of Market Risk and Credit Risk concepts.

Client

  • Understand the whole lifecycle Market and Credit risk systems.
  • Interact with and support clients to deliver solutions by utilising strong inter-personal communication skills to ensure that an acceptable level of service is delivered to clients.
  • Incident Management:Adherence to processes and standards.(Basic quality measured will include:Regular updates, attachment of evidence, spelling and clarity of feedback to customer.)
  • Perform intermediate application maintenance activities by performing and controlling morning on-line availability checks and advising applicable BUs.
  • Application configuration management
  • Ensure a good understanding and working knowledge of all supported application systems including interfaces with other systems and dependencies on specific data, configurations and high level technical factors. 
  • Ensure understanding of projects scope,key deliverables,roles in the projects and participation necessary from own role.

Data

  • Develop new reports for any support function requirement.
  • Analysis of and remedial actions for solutions to functional system issues and problem tickets.

Technology & Architecture

  • Provide second and third level support for CIB Risk systems. Participate in the resolution of analytical queries from Market Risk and Credit Risk
  • Provide Specialist knowledge and expertise in collaboration with development/engineering teams on projects.
  • Build and maintain automated housekeeping procedures to actively manage Application usability.
  • Leverage technology assets to deliver required client outcomes and seek ways to leverage assets to facilitate better outcomes for clients.
  • Participate in the development of integration solutions and other infrastructure projects inclusive of database upgrades, application upgrades etc., by providing advice and implementation based on the understanding of the end-to-end functionality and design of the system/s.
  • Influence the technology direction as it pertains to the business.
  • Provide guidance to junior and middle members and advise as a subject matter expert.
  • Deliver customer service to the expected standards appropriate for the level of responsibility of the position.
  • Good product understanding and knowledge in order to provide relevant Incident Management,Service Request Management,Application and IT infrastructure support.
  • Application configuration management.
  • Participation in projects during all phases of the SDLC as necessary.
  • Audit and Risk requirements.
  • Participation in the QA (Quality Assurance) of system specifications, SIT (System Integration Testing)testing and pre-production sign-off for all projects and changes.
  • Maximise processing efficiency of system functionality.
  • Administration of change dispensation process.
  • Specific audit controls and information gathering.
  • Post deployment of change verification.
  • Participation in production readiness assessments and activities.
  • Adherence to processes and standards. (Basic quality measured will include: Regular updates, attachment of evidence and clarity of feedback to stakeholders.)
