Summary

The Shipping/Receiving Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the daily shipping and receiving operations, supervising department employees and maintaining positive customer relationships. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Schedules work flow and deliveries to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of shipping and receiving operations
• Operates a forklift to load and unload product
• Uses various software to ship and check-in product
• Communicates regularly with customers and company management in-person, via telephone and email to ensure customer satisfaction
• Investigates and resolves customer shipping concerns
• Refers unresolved customer complaints to appropriate department management
• Creates, reviews and maintains shipping and receiving records
• Supports the department cost control and budget activities
• Ensures company, safety and Lean procedures and initiatives are followed
• Recommends improvements to processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
• Follows paperwork flow, QA and Shop Floor policies and procedures
• Assists with Driver and Shipping Clerk duties, as needed
• Evaluates routes periodically for improvements
• Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Has advanced basic computer job skills including logging on to systems, ability to communicate by email, ability to compose documents, enter database information, create presentations, download forms, and preserve/backup important data.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Forklift certification required and will be provided by Stack Portland.
