St Vincent de Paul CARES is Hiring a Data Specialist Near St. Petersburg, FL

SUMMARY: The Data Systems Specialist is responsible for coordinating all aspects of (Information Assurance) data completeness, data integrity, reporting, user training, and ensuring the ongoing compliance with the Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) Data and Technical Standards, and all federal, state, and local laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:(These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. · Work with HMIS Trainers to schedule, coordinate and implement relevant training for all staff; ensure training, retraining, post-training follow up and documentation are completed as required. Ensure training content is current and all training records are maintained.
· Complete data entry, data correction and support for electronic systems managed by SVdP CARES.
· Collaborate with program managers to ensure staff are using current documentation required by governing agencies.
· Perform Information Assurance duties as assigned.
· Ensure agency Data Quality program procedures are adhered to. 
· Partner with Program Managers/staff for data systems issues and conduct follow-up training as required. 
· Report to the Compliance Officer policy and procedure deviations or changes. 
· Report agency data policy discrepancies to the Compliance Officer.
· Ensure data corrections are completed in a timely manner.
· Attend required meetings set by SVdP CARES, funders, and data governance committees.
· Assist in the development/review of policies and procedures for general operations of the Data Compliance Program.
· Work collaboratively with all HMIS staff to ensure completion of all annual projects including the adherence to all established timelines and contract objectives.
· Work collaboratively with all HMIS staff to ensure relevant and appropriate reporting compliance with all federal, state, and local contracts.
· Perform Information Assurance responsibilities in accordance with the Compliance program initiatives.
· Provide technical support and resolution of compliance issues as needed.
· Compile statistical data for reports as required.
· Participate with HMIS activities on a local, statewide, regional, and national level.
· Adhere to current HMIS Data and Technical Standards and the HMIS Policies and Procedures.
· Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve high quality standards-based service, departmental and company goals.
· Follow all organization's policies, practices, and procedures.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Complies with all applicable training requirements.
· Complies with all company safety, personnel and operational policies and procedures.
· Complies with work schedule to ensure effective operations of Agency programs. 
· Contributes positively as a member of a productive and cooperative team.
· Performs other duties as necessary to fulfill the Mission of Society of St. Vincent de Paul CARES.

· Able to speak, write and understand English.

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees of the organization.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· Demonstrated use of intermediate computer operations and intermediate software packages
· Must be sensitive to and respect cultural diversity amongst clients, staff, and volunteers and able to work with diverse racial, ethnic, and economic groups.

· Flexible work schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

· Successfully pass Law Enforcement background screening.

· Understands the barriers faced by Veterans and their families when they are returning to civilian life.
· Knowledge of the characteristics and cultural diversity associated with Veterans and their family members.
· Ability to meet deadlines and handle crisis.
· Exceptional record keeping skills; ability to obtain and maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential notes and client's files specific to program requirements.
· Excellent written and verbal skills, which include word processing, data entry and email.
· Ability to problem solve and make decisions independently as needed.
· Possess a valid Florida driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for travel is required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (Pending on position and if prior to hire is approved by the HR Director, a comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum education qualifications)
· Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
· Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or two or more years related experience with data entry, data compliance and/or project management or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Track record of successful project management training, compliance, and/or data quality projects.
· Knowledge of Health and human services background and HMIS preferred.
GENERAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to perform the essential functions of the job successfully. Reasonable accommodation can be made, if appropriate, to enable people with disabilities to perform the described essential functions of job. Working in an office/site requires prolonged sitting at the computer workstation; standing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 40lbs. and some driving. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, and other office equipment. It is also required to regularly sit, speak, and listen, the employee is also required to walk, use hands and fingers to type, operate equipment, and maintain records and notes. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
MENTAL DEMANDS: Must handle new and diverse work problems daily. Personal maturity is an important attribute. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure. Must have the ability to listen objectively to people, perceive the real problem and assist in bringing issues to a successful conclusion. Must relate and interact with, volunteers, clients, contractors, visitors, and employees at all levels within the Agency.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Environment will occasionally become noisy due to equipment operations and interactions among clients and staff. There may be the possibility of being exposed to communicable disease, possible exposure to verbal abuse or similar behavior from residents/clients. On an as needed basis, employees may be called upon to work outside of the established work schedule or work odd hours. All information associated with the Agency is confidential.
