St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho is seeking an Anesthesia Coordinator to join our Surgical Services team.

Position SummaryThe Anesthesia Coordinator is responsible for assisting physicians in the care and management of patients undergoing anesthesia.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a resource and collaborates with other resources and departments by providing technical guidance and instruction as appropriate.
• Serves as a resource to staff and the Anesthesia personnel for issues related to equipment and procedures
• May complete or assist in the completion of the employee evaluation process, counsel employees and/or recommend initial discipline and other personnel decisions.
• May perform preceptor role in the training of students and peers.
• May coordinate schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels.
• If Certified, under supervision, assists anesthesia providers by setting-up equipment and preparing medications.
• If Certified, assists the licensed provider with patient assessments, evaluations, transport, positioning, insertion of intravenous and other invasive lines and airway management.
• If Certified, assists the licensed provider in clinical settings such as the operating room (OR), obstetrics suite (OB), interventional and or diagnostic radiology, Post anesthesia care unit (PACU).
• If Certified, may assist in direct patient care under supervision in routine & emergency situations.
• Handles complex issues and problems.
• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Experience: 3 years clinical experience
• Licenses/Certifications: Must have one of the following:
  • Certified Anesthesia Technician (CerAT); OR
  • Certified Anesthesia Technologist (CerATT); OR
  • 2 years additional experience in lieu of Certifications
