St. Joseph Children's Home is Hiring a Development Specialist (Full-time plus Retention Bonus) Near LOUISVILLE, KY

St. Joseph Children’s Home, located in the St. Matthews area of Louisville, has evolved throughout the years to become a multi-faceted, child caring nonprofit licensed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky with the mission of “Giving Children a Home.”

St. Joe’s is no longer home to “orphans” but rather, children who have been removed from their homes because they have experienced severe abuse and neglect. St. Joe’s has consistently adapted to the needs of the community and now serves children and families across four core programs: Residential Treatment Program, Therapeutic Foster Care and Adoption Program, Child Development Center and Behavioral Health Services Organization (BHSO).

What do we need?

The Development Specialist works with the CAO and Development team to coordinate, plan, and implement activities and resources necessary to achieve fundraising goals and campaign objectives by identifying and cultivating relationships that translate into financial support (including but not limited to directed gift requests, Picnic Sponsorships, company gifts, etc.).

More specifically, the candidate chosen for this role will:

  • Achieve assigned revenue goals by developing and maintaining relationships with corporate and community partners.
  • Drive new business development by soliciting sponsorships and generating participant income through developing year-round business and cultivation plans.
  • Drive peer-to-peer fundraising by supporting corporate partners and team leaders effectively.
  • Recruit and manage C-suite volunteer leadership based on established methodologies.
  • Maintain an ongoing pipeline of potential sponsors, donors, and volunteer leadership.
  • Instrumental in building volunteer opportunities.
  • Monitor participant fundraising trends and implementing proven strategies to improve income.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate assigned fundraising initiatives according to standard methodologies and campaign timeline.
  • Confirm timely and accurate data entry of relevant information.
  • Collaborate with other staff and volunteers as needed to promote and support local initiatives and to optimize market strategy, and drive community impact.
  • Work with the Special Events Manager to support, plan and execute the annual St. Joseph Children’s Home “Picnic for the Kids”.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in fundraising and/or business development.
