The ICU Professional Nurse is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process. She/he implements the Nursing Service standards of care and practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served and the areas of clinical practice. Exhibits critical thinking in the assessment, planning, prioritization, delivery and evaluation of patient care. Identifies individualized patient/significant other learning needs and implements appropriate measures to meet needs. Demonstrates knowledge, respect and sensitivity of patient's rights. Serves as a patient advocate. Assures confidentiality of patient information. Maintains effective communication with staff. physicians, patients and families, also within the unit and with other departments. Participates in the development of standards and unit departmental performance improvement activity. Position will work at both the Andrus and Dobbs Ferry Pavilions.
Bachelor in Nursing preferred. Currently licensed and registered to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York. Current BLS, ACLS , EKG and PALS Certification preferred. Critical care experience preferred.
