Job Description:

Summary: Demonstrates mechanical assembly knowledge in one of the following area: electrical, hydraulic, or detail. In this job, you will assemble machines, equipment, and/or their subassemblies; following blueprints, other written instructions or verbal instructions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans assembly procedures, following written, drawn or verbal specifications
  • In order to produce a clean, close fit between parts, you may have to remove small quantities of metal by drilling, taping or reaming holes
  • Align components and bolt, screw or rivet them together
  • Install moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings; them work them to test for free movement
  • Bends and installs pipe for hydraulic system of gears
  • Aligns and meshes gears in gearbox to assembly system of gears
  • Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product
  • Attention to details, balance teamwork and individual responsibilities, follows policies and procedures, and attendance/punctuality (consistently at work and on time)
  • Must be familiar with wrench sizes, wrench fit to bolts and nuts
  • Needs to be able to install engine hoses and know how to properly tighten clamps
  • Should be familiar with simple wiring and troubleshooting electrical problems (ex. know how to wire a 110V switch and tracing a ground issue)
  • Must be able to install hoses using drawings

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • One to two years experience and/or training (Technical School/Community College)
  • OR a combination of experience and education

Physical Demands:

  • You will be required to regularly stand, use hands/fingers and reach with arms/hands
  • You will frequently be required to walk
  • Occasionally you will be required to climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • You will frequently be required to lift and/or move machine parts, weighing up to 50 pounds. We do not require you to lift more than 50 pounds, you will utilize cranes for heavy lifting
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision
