Description
St. Charles Borromeo is seeking a full-time paraprofessional for the 2022-23 school year.
These individuals will work as part of the Resource Team and report to the Special Education
Coordinator. They will work directly with students and teachers in the regular classrooms.
Paraprofessionals support the learning, language, therapy needs and social-emotional well being
of students, so that they can experience inclusive education in the least restrictive environment.
The ideal candidate must have good communication skills, have experience working with
students in a school setting and be good at organizing and working on academic subjects with
students. Applicants should exhibit good teamwork skills and demonstrate appropriate behavior
management skills.
Responsibilities
-Always understand and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church.
-The position requires individual care for the physical, social, and emotional needs of the young child while promoting and modeling the mission of the Catholic Church.
-Participate in and complete required training through professional development opportunities.
-Demonstrate professionalism, including confidentiality, when working with administration, staff,
parents and children, while promoting positive relationships and effectively communicating with
others.
-Manage and set high behavior standards within the classroom and building.
-Must be physically able to perform the job of a teacher/caregiver of young children.
-Be an active member of a faith community and be a model of the teachings of Jesus
Requirements
Candidates for positions at Borromeo Academy must:
-Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset
-Practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred, but not required.
-Practicing Catholic with ethical standard, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with morals and teachings of the Catholic Church; includes faithful obedience to the Magisterium.
