Job Location: St. Andrews Country Club - Boca Raton, FL
Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00

Job Purpose

The IT Support Specialist will provide support for multiple applications and software including but not limited to Microsoft, MS Office Suite, Northstar, and other hospitality and financial related software. This includes troubleshooting, isolating and resolving issues to software platforms, wired and wireless networks, computer peripherals, printers, and VOIP phones throughout the organization. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT investments. Responsible for assisting in the improvement of existing and new software applications. This position is also directly responsible for the physical setup, transportation, and delivery of hardware to the various departments and provide on-site support when working with our IT support. Works closely with our IT provider to ensure continuity of technology provided.


Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Strategy & Planning

  • Provide and coordinate support and resolve problems to the end user's satisfaction. Analyze results, make recommendations for support process improvement, and implement changes.
  • Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent repeated future problems.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Provide support for the testing of new and existing software applications under development or consideration for purchase at the direction of the CFO.

Operational Management

  • Must have a good understanding, desire and ability to delve into cross-functional issues.
  • Take initiative to identify, explore and solve problems.
  • Record, track, and document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
  • Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, and end users.
  • Maintain and enhance performance of all new and existing software and applications across the organization as directed by CFO and IT provider.
  • Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization.
  • Coordinate with department heads to assess departmental application training needs and objectives.
  • Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
  • Assist in the operation of the firms database servers, which includes software installations, upgrades, service packs, system monitoring and job scheduling.
  • Performs application troubleshooting and maintenance in accordance with approved/established application support policies and change control policies in the organization.
  • communicate with key users to gain knowledge of local special process and be able to identify process gaps.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors Degree from a 4 year college or university
  • Two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Requirements

Required to stand, sit for prolonged periods of time, walk, stoop, bend, stretch and reach. May be required to lift up to 40 pounds. Vision must be correctable to read and write. Hearing must be sufficient to understand conversation in an office environment with a moderate noise level. Must have hand usage to operate keyboard.
