Position Summary We are seeking a Category Manager to join our team in Irving, Texas. Work from home and in person at the Irving, Texas McKesson Headquarters office as needed The Category Manager is responsible for the development and execution of product category strategies focused on revenue and margin growth for assigned product category portfolios. Manages vendor/supplier relationships. Assesses financial state, supplier performance, product mix, and market growth opportunities of categories to formulate an overall strategic plan of action. Clearly communicates category strategy within the organization with the intent of influencing and gaining agreement among key constituents. Develops tactical plans to execute on strategy and manages projects as needed to deliver intended results. Conducts negotiations with vendors to form contract terms and conditions that align with long-range category strategy. Builds and leverages relationships with external suppliers as well as private brands, marketing and sales, legal/pricing/contracts, and inventory management teams. Work involves significant analysis to identify financial profit levers for long-range product category growth. Minimum Requirements Requires 4 years of experience relevant to category management Critical Skills Previous experience in planning, cost reduction, and contract negotiations Demonstrated analytical ability and financial acumen Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills with a large variety of audiences Manage multiple projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving. Ability to translate strategic vision into tactical plans and influence adoption of prescribed actions Additional Knowledge & Skills Marketing analytics and supply chain project management Strong interpersonal and influential skills Building strategic relationships with suppliers Influencing, presentation, relationship management Leadership in a matrix organization with the ability to communicate ideas to stakeholders and senior decision-makers. Strong MS Office skills include intermediate to advanced PowerPoint Education 4-year degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience Physical Requirements A large percentage of time performing computer-based work is required Work from home and in person at the Irving, Texas McKesson Headquarters office as needed Must be authorized to work in the US.
