SR Shared Services LLC is Hiring a Director of Human Resources Near Tallahassee, FL

Description

The Director of Human Resources works closely with the Vice President of Human Resources and is responsible for the development and execution of human resource processes, procedures and implementation. The Human Resource Director provides overall leadership, management, and guidance to a team of HR staff members overseeing employee relations, training, talent acquisition, and benefits management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Selects, develops, evaluates, and leads a team of human resource professionals with a goal of earning a high level of credibility as an effective and responsive internal support group.
  2. Counsel leaders on responses to employee relations issues, performance management, and disciplinary actions. Oversee terminations and reductions in staff.
  3. Proactively reviews data to assess trends in team member terminations, promotions and compensation, and communicate action plans from these trends.
  4. Develops and implements of various human resources policy, procedures and plans for all company personnel.
  5. Applies existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within a department and communities.
  6. Creates and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for community and hotel personnel.
  7. Creates and maintains current job descriptions for all positions.
  8. Oversees and manages the recruitment and selection activities, hiring and onboarding processes at the community level. Assists communities in these areas when needed.
  9. Maintains expert level knowledge of HRIS and is able to provide training and support as needed.
  10. Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and to reduce litigation.
  11. Commitment to the highest levels of discretion and confidentiality
  12. Oversees unemployment claims. Ensures preparation and necessary information as requested for case review and coordinates necessary parties for participation in phone or in person hearings. Provides coaching/counseling to community ED’s in preparation for all UC telephone appeals hearings.
  13. Manages and oversees administration of the benefits programs to include annual open enrollment.
  14. Oversees the FMLA process and compliance. Directs the preparation of information needed, requested and educates community leaders.
  15. Oversees worker’s compensation program, claims management and compliance.
  16. Conducts investigations into employee claims of harassment or discrimination.
  17. Submits bi-weekly update reports to VP of Human Resources on ongoing projects, challenges, developments, and accomplishments.
  18. Updates employee notes/journal in HRIS following any phone calls with the employee or in regards to the employee’s performance, or reports of harassment, discrimination or other policy violation.
  19. Other duties as assigned.
  20. Occasional travel required.

Requirements

Qualifications/ Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Master's degree in human resources management, business administration or related field from an accredited college or university. Experience in the Human Resources field may be substituted for required education on a year by year basis.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior human resources management role.
  • Certified Professional in Human Resources preferred or desire/willingness to acquire.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and a drive to achieve both short- and long-term results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts
  • Ability to prioritize, manage and complete multiple tasks.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing.
  • Must submit to and pass a level 2 background screening

Work Environment

This job operates in both a professional office environment and senior care communities.

Physical Demands

  • Required to stand/walk/sit regularly and occasionally for prolonged periods of time
  • Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed, including nights and weekends.
  • Travel required: Less than 10%
