Overview

SquadLocker’s Rhode Island-based headquarters is actively searching for an Accounting Clerk to join our finance team in ensuring daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for processing business transactions for both accounts payable and receivable. You will communicate with customers and cooperatively work with our internal teams and vendors to reconcile accounts, prepare bank deposits, enter credit memos, process shipment invoices, cash disbursements and process refunds in a timely manner. In this mid-level position, you will learn about the entire accounting and clerical support process, the people and teams involved and how to troubleshoot when problems occur.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare bank deposits, cash disbursements and cash receipts
• Process shipment, Match Vendor and miscellaneous invoices
• Verify and reconcile accounts and monthly statements in a timely manner
• Communicate and cooperatively work with customers, internal teams and vendors
• Process refunds, payments, collections to customer accounts
• Enter credit memos and Positive Pay
• Distribute payroll and mail
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

We are looking for ambitious individuals with a history of high achievement and the desire to work in a fast-paced environment with peers who challenge them to be better. These are the qualifications:

• 5 to 7 years accounting, bookkeeping or data entry experience
• Proficiency with MS Office, accounting software and financial reports; Great Plains experience preferred
• Excellent organization, time management and verbal/written communication skills
• Proficient level of critical thinking and outstanding attention to detail
• Capability to perform multiple tasks and manage several jobs at the same time
