Spurs Sports and Entertainment is Hiring an A/V Technician (Part-Time) Near San Antonio, TX

Overview

We are looking for A/V Technician (Part-Time) to join the team!

This position is responsible for franchise event set up, configuration and operation of assorted production equipment and systems.These systems include broadcast cameras, production graphics, video replay, video playback, production switching, audio PA and microphone set up, and broadcast cable management . The eligible candidate will carry a multitude of qualifications, including but not limited to: understanding of computer desktop operating systems, understanding of live sports production techniques, handling multiple tasks, maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude and have strong organizational and communication skills. This position requires a flexible dedicated work schedule, to include working nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate one or more of the following skills:
  • Execute all loading of content, show preparation and operation for Daktronics Show Control playback system.
  • Execute all loading of content, show preparation and operation for Ross Acuity Switcher.
  • Enter content, prepare show presentation and operation of XPression graphics system
  • Operation of Dream Catcher replay system for live game replays, features, and post game highlight editing and storage.
  • Set up, operation, and tear down of broadcast quality production cameras.
  • Live production cable management, supporting handheld camera operator and preventing cable hazard situations.
  • Live audio PA support including set up of portable audio systems and microphone set up and placement.
  • Recognize and ensure quality control standards are in place and executed for media and displays. When necessary, notify engineering staff when an inaccuracy is detected. Support the process to bring the inaccuracy to correction and resolution.
  • Provide day-to-day support for updates and changes in material and presentation.
  • Collaborate and interact with SS&E staff to support fulfilling technology needs for event in a professional manner consistent with SS&E standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or certificate of specialization in a related technology field of study (Preferred)
    • Minimum 2 years experience in live audio and video production and maintenance
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds
    • Ability to sit in a single location for three to four hours.
    • Ability to handle 20 pound hand held camera, while squatting, sitting, standing, walking for up to four hours.
    • Proven ability to recognize problems and resolve them in a timely manner and fashion
    • Proven ability to handle pressure and function calmly in a sometimes chaotic environment
    • Ability to adapt, demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy required.
    • Strong teamwork aptitude required.
    • Strong customer service skills required.
    • Ability to show proficient in computer skills and basic software and operating systems.
    • The ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks.
    • Continuing education or certifications in the field of technology is preferred.
    • A flexible dedicated work schedule, to include working nights, weekends and holidays is required.
