As a result of our increased growth, we are adding a Software Developer to our team. While reporting to the Laboratory Director, this position will work closely with other departmental managers as projects dictate. 

Job Location 

Spruce Headquarters is located in Ward Hill, MA. The ideal candidate will work in the office Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:00, with collaboration remotely with staff in our other facilities. 

What we need 

Spruce is looking for a talented software developer to participate in the creation of a modern laboratory information management system for our Laboratory division. We are looking for a candidate who is willing to work as part of a team to assist us in combining our existing systems into a dynamic, robust, user- friendly browser based application. 

Required Skills 

• Background in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems preferred 
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Software Developer 
• Ability to develop clean code using JavaScript and Typescript 
• Proficiency with software engineering tools such as VS Code, GitHub and Jira 
• Ability to document requirements and specifications
• Ability to deliver products on schedule

• Ability to work with local and remote departments 

Responsibilities 

• Develop new applications following software verification plans and quality assurance procedures 
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system 
• Document, update and maintain software 
• Test, debug and improve code of team members
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
