Position summary:

Maintaining a clean and healthful environment by utilizing proper laundering procedures to ensure clean and sanitary personal and communal articles.

Essential Functions:

  • Collect, wash, dry, and fold residents’ and communal laundry on a scheduled basis. Return laundry to proper owner/department.
  • Practice safe infection control procedures including cross-contamination of personal artifacts.
  • Safely follow cleaning products and chemicals directions of usage. Be aware of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Keep laundry carts and equipment clean and in working order. Promptly notify manager of needed repairs.
  • Keep laundry machines clean and free of lint and debris.
  • Keep laundry room and linen storage areas well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
  • Attend all required orientation/training and staff meetings.
  • Use proper protective equipment when necessary.

Non Essential Functions:

  • Assist in light housekeeping task when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures of Spring Hills.

Experience And Education: High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); experience with commercial grade laundry equipment a plus.

Physical Requirements: Standing (over 2/3), walking (over 2/3), using hands to finger, handle or feel (over 2/3), reach with hands and arms (over 2/3), climb and balance (under 1/3), stoop, kneel(1/2-2/3), talk or hear (1/2-2/3), taste or smell (under 1/3). Lifting up to 10 pounds (over 2/3), Up to 25 pounds (1/3-2/3); Up to 50 pounds (under 1/3)
