SpotOn Fence is Hiring a Remote Performance Marketing Manager

Come help us grow! SpotOn is the start-up you’ve always dreamed about. We invented the world’s first GPS dog fence and we've just launched our Generation 2.0 fence. You’ll be part of a growing, fun, and collaborative team, driving the D2C sales of a hot, new consumer tech product. You can also bring your dog to work every day!

We are looking for an energetic, innovative, and organized growth/email marketer to help us drive brand growth and maximize our marketing/advertising efforts.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this newly minted position will manage SpotOn’s two-fold growth strategyーwhich is driven by traditional channels such as paid search, paid social, display, and affiliate marketing, but relies heavily on email to convert prospects into leads. You’ll own SpotOn’s sales funnel, partnering with our direct media agency to drive site traffic and capture leads and managing SpotOn’s in-house email program to close the sale. You are curious about what makes potential customers tick, are comfortable devising and managing iterative tests, are fluent in channel best practices, and are proficient in technology that supports each channel. You are always thinking about how to innovate and can dream up creative solutions through the use of data and insights.

RESPONSIBILITIES

With an emphasis on email, develop high-impact, multi-channel media programs to drive sales of the SpotOn Fence and accessory products. We have aggressive monthly forecasts to hit and efficient CAC targets to meet.

Growth

  • Partner with SpotOn's digital agency to drive our primary paid channels: paid social, paid search, affiliate as well as test new channels.
  • Analyze data, create hypotheses, and develop tests around creative and messaging.
  • Direct agency on how and when to roll out creative testing across paid media, engagement points, and landing pages. 
  • Partner with creative team and freelancers to source creative needed to support these efforts.
  • Define and test new ways to capture and nurture email leads.
  • Define KPIs and measure the impact of each campaign, and develop ways to scale.
  • Investigate and test new channels to communicate with potential customers.
  • Streamline reporting for paid channels, develop new reports, and present them to management.

Email

  • Own SpotOn’s email program focused primarily on converting leads to a sale.
  • Optimize segmentation, establish messaging hierarchy, targeting priorities, flighting, testing, and the plan for measurement across all email automations and campaigns with the goal of increasing customer engagement and conversions.
  • Drive sales through email by identifying, testing, and optimizing messaging, email cadence, and incentives.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive test plan across subject lines, creative, content, landing page, and segmentation. 
  • Develop, manage, and schedule the email launch of new and existing products, app updates, and special brand initiatives (such as giveaways or promotions).
  • Drive continuous improvement across email KPIs including deliverability, open rates, click rates, conversion rates, unsubscribe rates, and revenue
  • Develop and maintain reporting for email performance. Communicate effectively to key stakeholders with appropriate recommendations for action.
  • Work with Brand Marketing Manager to gather and identify ongoing customer feedback themes to improve upon paid marketing and email copy. Test for audience responsiveness.
  • Work with graphic designers and video editors to develop email templates and creative to support email channel.

REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BS degree 
  • 5 years of email marketing experience with strong experience in nurture-to-convert programs
  • 1 years experience in acquisition marketing, performance marketing, and/or media planning role 
  • Strong collaboration skills: must be willing to work closely with VP of Marketing and Brand Manager to develop engaging email automations and campaigns
  • Independent worker: self-starter with a can-do attitude and excellent organizational skills. 
  • Strong project management skills: ability to manage multiple short and long-term priorities under tight deadlines, in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Data-driven mindset: proven ability to translate analytic data into strategic insights that drive successful marketing programs. Excellent Excel skills required.
  • Preferred experience in Klaviyo or similar ESP with extensive knowledge of email best practices, technologies, and trends. Knowledge of syntax and ability to program emails in ESPs a plus.
  • Experience with campaign creation, tracking, tagging, testing, and marketing analytics.
  • A creative mind that gets excited about brainstorming subject lines and calls to action and writing email copy
  • Experience working with dogs, either professionally or personally, is a plus. Comfort with touching and working with dogs is required.
