As Spotnana’s first Product Data Scientist, you will work with cross-functional teams of product managers, engineers and designers to shape the data infrastructure of our product and influence product decisions using data. We are looking for an experienced data scientist who is independent and collaborative, appreciates moving quickly, and can work on multiple product initiatives and connect the dots between them.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary driver to define and develop the requirements for our product data infrastructure including data collection, metrics creation, modeling, and reporting on product performance
• Leverage data to drive product and operational decisions to measures and improve our product and user experience
• Define, compute, track, visualize and continuously validate product metrics, leveraging analytics and business intelligence platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define problem statements, goals and build analytical models and measurement frameworks to assess progress and make recommendations 
• Collaborate with our product and engineering teams to Identify product, organizational, and process opportunities and drives them to fruition 
• Collaborate with our head of analytics and with our UI/UX researchers to combine user data with market and customer analysis to inform business strategies and product roadmaps
• Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or relevant technical field
• 6 years of hands-on experience analyzing and interpreting data in a corporate environment, developing metrics, recommending actions, and reporting results across diverse groups of users 
• 6 years of experience in advanced SQL queries development, experience with scripting in Python or a similar language
• Ability to work with variety of cloud data tools and technologies and recommend best tools for various needs 
• Experience with notebook-based Data Science workflow and, ideally, machine learning and AI
• Excellent attention to detail
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with familiarity/comfortability using mixed methods and/or types of data (i.e. qualitative, quantitative, cross-sectional, longitudinal)
• Strong data visualization, communication and storytelling skills and ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders through simple, actionable insights and recommendations
• Be a self-starter, motivated by an interest for developing the best possible data-driven solutions
