Job Description
Compass Minerals Sporting Fields is a multi-use sports facility that contains seven acres of native soil with turf-type Tall Fescue, eight synthetic fields and surrounding common space. As the Groundskeeper for Sporting Kansas City Compass Minerals Sporting Fields the position will be responsible for providing safe and aesthetically pleasing fields using sound agronomic practices. In addition, the Groundskeeper CMSF will maintain constant communication with the Director and Manager of Turf Operations, Sporting Fields & Athletics and Youth Soccer to achieve operational objectives.

Essential Functions
- Works with Turf Operations in conjunction with Sporting Fields and Athletics to creatively plan cultural practices.
- Works with Sporting Fields and Athletics/Youth Soccer to balance field usage and setup requirements.
- Assists in the development and execution of best IPM (Integrated Pest Management) programs.
- Develop a comprehensive field maintenance program that aligns with both usage and the financial plan of the facility that includes but is not limited to:
- Fertility
- Pesticide/Herbicide applications
- Grooming synthetics
- Scheduled use of water
- Ability to create and maintain a safe work environment compliant with governing state and federal authorities.
- Support other Sporting facilities (Children’s Mercy Park, Compass Minerals National Performance Center and Swope Soccer Village) in achieving turf management goals when available.
- Develop best methods of daily, weekly, and monthly communication with the Director and Manager of Turf Operations.
- Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Turf Management or related field preferred but not required.
- Strong background in the Landscape Management industry.
- Previous experience operating sports turf equipment.
- Kansas Pesticide Applicators License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
