Job Summary
The HR business partner (HRBP) is responsible for providing Employee Relations support to their assigned business units in the areas of benefits, performance management, talent management, organizational planning, employment policies and employee relations. The successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and develops integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the organization to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP participates in interviews, investigations, completing documentation, handling employee disciplinary meetings and performance improvement meetings, leaves of absence and/or medical accommodation requests and providing general consultative advice. This position requires a high level of integrity and ability to handle highly confidential cases, assignments, and projects.
Essential Job Functions
· Ensures a positive employee work environment through strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
· Represents the company as a visible, approachable and professional HR practitioner and fosters employee engagement.
· Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations.
· Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance including, but not limited to OSHA, ADA, FMLA.
· Assists in establishing recruitment needs by studying organization plans and objectives by meeting with hiring managers to assess current and future recruitment needs.
· Assists in determining applicant qualifications by screening resumes, interviewing applicants, comparing qualifications to job requirements and ensuring fit for organization.
· Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies.
· Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks.
· Partners in planning and conducting new employee orientation and onboarding programs to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
· Assists in administering company safety program and ensures compliance with regulatory and organizational policies and mandates.
· Maintains records of benefits plan participation such as insurance, transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
· Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, PTO, leaves of absence, and employee assistance.
· Administers assigned segments of payroll processing and employee data.
· Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rates and windows.
· Conducts exit interviews and completes unemployment claims for organization.
· Assists in administering performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
· Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
· Completes other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field and minimum 5 years related experience.
· HR experience in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing setting strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships with employees and management.
· Continually identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices.
· Working knowledge of employment laws, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, and Harassment.
· Experience with full HR life cycle competencies including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits, training and development.
· Exceptional organizational, written and oral communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
