Supports daily operational needs through the Information Technology Help Desk.
Installs new computer systems including operating systems and applications.
Upgrades and repairs computer system components including hard drives, CD-ROMs, video cards, sound cards, modems, memory, motherboards and processors.
Diagnoses computer system failures through evaluation and testing, and resolves with software or hardware modifications.
Provides technical assistance and training to all computer users on the County-wide area network.
Evaluates new hardware and software and makes recommendations to Information Technology Management.
Develops and maintains procedures for hardware and software installation and configuration.
Assists IT Systems Administrators with help desk monitoring and software installation/support/troubleshooting.
Provides training and assistance to other employees as needed.
May be required to perform all duties of subordinate level classifications.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
AA in Computer Science or closely related field and two years of relevant work experience in the information technology field. Experience with relevant software packages, hardware and network operating systems.
In lieu of a degree, additional relevant training, certification or experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
