Job Title: Event Coordinator

Responsibility of: VP of Events

Position Summary: The Event Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and execution of events at The Dirt Track @ Charlotte Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway, and select events at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Responsibilities:

• Events at CMS

• Work with team members and all stakeholders to ensure cost efficiencies and best practices for all events at CMS.
• Event coordination for car shows at CMS.
• Manage Summer Shootout and all USLI/CMS racing activities.
• Assist and coordinate events for Charlotte Motor Speedway including, pre-race planning, concerts, car shows, and all other events at CMS.
• Assist with NASCAR events in all capacities as needed.
• Create and coordinate “The Event Plan” for CMS events as needed.
• Work with all departments at CMS to ensure flawless execution of the event plans.
• Coordinate and book Speed Street/Fan zone entertainment.
• Book entertainment and assist with all car show functions for Autofair as needed.
• Assist with rentals on a day-to-day basis as needed.

  • The Dirt Track
• Oversee all events and activities at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
• Coordinate and manage budgets and expenses for the Dirt Track.
• Coordinate and work with vendors, sanctioning bodies, and clients of The Dirt Track.
• Assist and oversee track prep needs.
• Work with sanctioning bodies and other partners to promote and execute events at the Dirt Track.
• Oversee racing officials and staff as required to manage competition.
• Coordinate and contract monster trucks for our Monster Truck show.
• Help manage and coordinate promotions and advertising for all Dirt Track events in coordination with our Marketing team.

• zMAX Dragway

• Oversee all technical aspects of drag racing at zMAX Dragway. This would include timing, tech, brackets, PA, official coordination, etc. 
• Coordinate and work with vendors, sanctioning bodies, and clients of zMAX Dragway.
• Create revenue generating events at zMAX Dragway.
• Manage racing activities at zMAX Dragway, including, test & tunes, weekly racing, large track rentals, and sanctioned events.

Candidate must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to manage and lead people in a fast-paced environment. Strong computer skills and knowledge of racing is a must.
