Specialty Restaurants is Hiring a Payroll Coordinator Near Costa Mesa, CA

Pay: $20 - $22 / hour

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll for multiple off site locations and provides additional payroll support as needed. Supports the Payroll Supervisor by completing projects as directed.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Ensure timely processing of assigned payrolls.
  • Responsible for creating time entry import template spreadsheets in excel.
  • Responsible for importing time into the UKG Pro payroll system and auditing/balancing payroll runs. Experience with UKG Pro recommended.
  • Responsible for running weekly payroll reports after payroll runs are completed.
  • Responsible with running weekly and monthly payroll reports related to payroll data maintenance, such as zero rate reports, vacation balance reports, etc.
  • Assists accounting department with financial audits related to pay records as needed.
  • Responsible for reviewing manual check requests from the offsite locations, authorizing manual checks, posting manual checks into the UKG Pro payroll system and maintaining the electronic manual check log.
  • Responsible for entering employee data into payroll system such as direct deposit information, etc.
  • Assists with banking related processes such as check inquiry, placing stop payments, positive pay resolutions.
  • Performs filing and upkeep of employee payroll records.
  • Assists with escheatment process such as banking, creating due diligence letters, mailing and replacement of checks.
  • Assists with verification of year end data and reconcile W2 information for accuracy.
  • Assists staff with general questions related to payroll, accruals, wage deductions, benefit deductions, as well as troubleshooting payroll related issues.
  • Assists the payroll specialist and payroll manager with special projects as needed.
  • Provides payroll support to the corporate office and multiple off site locations.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

Experience:

  • Accounting degree or related preferred
  • High School Diploma required
  • 2 years of payroll experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with UKG Pro recommended
  • Previous experience in restaurant, hotel, or other hospitality industry preferred

Required Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Detailed Oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and time management.
  • Ability to identify issues and solutions to ensure timely project completion with minimal supervision.

Schedule Requirements:

  • 25-30 hours per week

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to walk, stand and/or sit for hours at a time.
