Position Overview: 

SFI is seeking an Agile Coach to support the U.S. Census Bureau Geography Division. The Agile Coach will be a key member of a transition team that facilitate the transition of software application development from Waterfall to Scale Agile Framework (SAFe). The Coach will be responsible to provide SAFe training/coaching to Product Owners, Development/Scrum teams and all stakeholders. 

Although this is a remote position, a one time pick up of equipment and access badge is required in person in Suitland, MD. US Citizenship is also required for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assists the team in implementing SAFe and working with other teams who may or may not be using SAFe
• Coaches the team to create better Solutions, improve business results, and better their processes
• Facilitates team meetings, including:
  • Backlog Refinement
  • Iteration Planning
  • Daily Stand-Up
  • Iteration Review
  • Iteration Retrospective
• Facilitates program events (as coordinated with the Release Train Engineer or Executives)
• Removes impediments and barriers to the team’s progress
• Protects the team from outside influence
• Tracking and communicating agreed upon team metrics
• Fosters adoption of Agile technical practices
• Coaches the team on the best ways to refine their backlog and create Stories
• Ensure Development Team understands and maintains commitment to the Definition of Done (DoD)
• Provides oversight for compliance to organizational standards (Security, CMMI, etc.) and best practices within the team
• Assist in coordinating remediation to gaps in compliance to organizational standards
• Assists the PO in preparing and refining the backlog for PI and Iteration Planning
• Helping the Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items
• Ensuring the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize Value
• Coach the Product Owner to ensure the volume and flow of Product Backlog Items (user stories) towards the top of the Product Backlog are Ready for the Sprint Backlog

Requirements

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related, or eight years of related experience. 
• SAFe Program Consultants (SPCs) certification required, or SAFe coaching experience. 
• Experience with Scale Agile Framework (SAFe) implementation required.
• Training delivery experience required. 
• 10 years ofexperience in software application development and deployment
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing IT Agile software development and deployment
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an integrated team.
• Understanding product planning in an empirical environment
• Highly analytical, possessing critical and creative thinking skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with team and customers
• The following skills are required:
• Project management experience and PMP certification is a plus 

Additional Requirements:

• In order to meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be a US Citizen.
• Ability to pass a US Public Trust background investigation for access to the client site and computing systems. You must have lived in the US for the past three (3) years.
• As a Federal Contractor, employees may be required to be vaccinated against Covid-19 and provide proof of vaccination prior to the first date of employment.

Other Information:

• The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $140,000 annually
• This is a full-time remote position. Please no agencies, third parties, or corp-to-corp.
