Location: Indianapolis, IN (Remote during COVID) OR 100% Remote available in the following states AZ, CA, CO, FL, HI, IN, KS, KY, MA, MI, MO, NC, OH, OR, TX, WA, WI, VA.
Years’ Experience: 5
Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent preferred
Key Skills:
- Experience in Healthcare Industry
- Experience with major EHR System experience (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.)
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and negotiating skills
Summary
The Software Engineering Manager plays a critical role in the delivery of high-quality products to the healthcare industry. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate all essential functions to manage a team to effectively design and construct modern software systems utilizing diverse technology sets while working within and across cross functional and geographically dispersed teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage a cross functional and geographically dispersed team in the development of both software applications and websites.
- Conduct code, design, architecture, and security reviews
- Mentor more junior software engineers
- Collaborate with business users to create solutions
- Creates, uses, and promotes the use of development frameworks, tools, methodologies, and procedures to reduce future coding efforts and increase functional consistency.
- Knowledgeable of current patterns and practices
- Communicate application vision and creates application architecture proposals based on identified solution gaps.
- Provides insight into and knowledge of the latest application architectures, technology, solutions, and industry trends.
- Experience with and knowledge of software development life cycles and the activities that occur within lifecycles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
- 5 years Software Development experience.
- Experience in Healthcare Industry.
- Experience with major EHR System experience (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.).
- Cloud Experience (AWS, Azure).
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and negotiating skills.
- Critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Integration experience with projects/products that integrate into an EPIC EHR System.
- Competence across a wide range of full stack technologies, including C#, Angular, JavaScript, web services, SQL, and cloud services (AWS or Azure).
- Experience with DevOps concepts including Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Infrastructure as code, and release automation.
