Hourly pay range: $16.43 - $19.26 based on qualifications.

Responsible for coordinating revenue cycle functions through an understanding of workflows, policies, and procedures of the revenue cycle for the hospital and clinics. Works with others to meet project needs, develop workflow improvements, and technological opportunities. This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills and has frequent contact with hospital and clinic staff, providers, outside vendors, and the public.
Requirements
High School diploma OR GED required. Two years of previous work experience revenue cycle performance is preferred.
· Observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential information concerning the personal, financial, medical, or employment status of a patient.
· Coordinates the admissions, pre-admissions, estimates for services, point of service cash collections, insurance eligibility, pre-authorizations, medical necessity, and customer service activities for hospital and clinic services.
· Coordinates the billing and insurance follow-up activities for the hospital and clinic services.
· Coordinates the cash posting, contractual adjustments, general ledger cash, and daily reconciliation for hospital and clinic services.
· Is a liaison between the admission, billing, insurance follow-up, self-pay, and bad debt vendors and communicates with vendors regularly.
· Promptly responds and communicates with patients in person or on the telephone to resolve obstacles preventing account resolution.
· Demonstrates competence in using applicable revenue cycle software system(s).
· Maintains assigned software module as it relates to hospital and clinic revenue cycle services.
· Monitors daily productivity of admissions, billing, and cash staff members and provides standardized reporting of functions.
· Establishes accuracy standards and uses benchmarks to measure the efficiency and success of revenue cycle activities.
· Ensures that established processes and systems are operational using a team approach to improve financial performance and cash flow; may coordinate activities to integrate optimally with hospital and clinic operations.
· Assists the Revenue Cycle Director in preparing policies and procedures.
· Reviews and participates in the evaluation of patient satisfaction scores and feedback to generate action plans that address revenue cycle function to maintain a patient-friendly organizational standard.
· Maintains an effective working relationship with administration, department directors, physician and office staff members, hospital staff members, and vendors to ensure goals are optimized.
· Complies with continuing education requirements and maintains all relevant certifications.
· Demonstrates a flexible attitude and is professional in both appearance and approach.
· Perform other functions as required to fulfill the expectations of the Revenue Cycle Specialist.
