Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for analyzing, organizing & updating financial statements and records. Additionally, this role is responsible for preparation of tax returns and responding to tax related IRS notices, bank access, bank transfers, and document preparation for external auditors.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review financial statements and accounting books for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare and file tax returns.
  • Organize & update financial records.
  • Updating bank access for team members
  • Process Bank transfers
  • Forecasting and budgeting
  • Preparing for external audits
  • Responding to Auditor questions

Teamwork

  • Work cooperatively and professionally with other team members, account managers, administrative support, management and auditors.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and training activities
  • Perform additional responsibilities and projects as periodically assigned.

Qualifications


Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA or working towards their license

Skills/Abilities

  • Prior experience in accounting, bookkeeping and account reconciliations.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge including proficiency in GAAP and accrual and cash accounting.
  • Experience with accounting software packages similar to QuickBooks
  • Minimum 40 WPM and 7,000 KPH proficiency
  • Solid expertise in MS Excel & MS Word (i.e. pivot tables and lookup functions)
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers, verbally and in writing.
  • Strong dedication to follow-through on all tasks and assignments
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple to moderately complex instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to work independently, organize, set priorities, and complete multiple projects/tasks within established deadlines.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time operating a computer.
