Southland Holdings is Hiring a Field Engineer Near Detroit, MI
A Southland Holdings company is currently accepting resumes for highly motivated Field Engineers to join our team in Detroit, MI to help at our newest project Connor Creek.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals
- Assist in management of project permit process
- Assist is preparation of bid packages and procurement
- Receive and review change orders
- Assist more senior civil engineers with entry level engineering tasks
- Assist with performing onsite construction administration and construction observation: services including reporting/monitoring contractor's compliance with contract documents
- Evaluates change order requests including design changes, specifications and drawing releases and reports status.
- Evaluates submittals of shop drawings, material data and samples and takes appropriate · action based upon contract specifications.
- Completes project close out requirements in accordance with contract documents.
- Coordinates meeting agendas, prepares minutes and follows up on action items
- Maintains effective and professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers and contractors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Excellent computer skills and analytical ability: experience working with Primavera P6, AutoCAD
- Understanding of industrial construction process.
- Experience in civil infrastructure to include: Tunneling, DOT projects, pipeline, water treatment, marine, etc.
- Must have ability to interpret contract specifications and drawings.
- Knowledge of contract procedures and principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
