Salary Range - $85,000 - $90,000.

Full COVID-19 vaccination required

The Senior Financial Accountant will work closely with Director of Finance and department staff. Responsibilities include managing financial functions including supervision of accounts payable, payroll processing, and the organizational budgets. Assist with grant and contract budgets, expenditure reports, and maintaining all accounting records and files. 

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for supervising Payroll Specialist and Accounts Payable Bookkeeper.
• Responsible for processing and completion of the monthly accounting cycle.
• Manage treasury functions plus overseeing monthly reconciliation of bank, credit card and investment account.
• Works with Grants Manager on grant budgets, expense analysis, and variances. 
• Prepares quarterly grant reports and enters in State of NJ electronic systems.
• Analyzes variances in financial data and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
• Preparation of quarterly and yearend financial statements.
• Works with external auditors in preparation of annual audit report, 401(k) audit and 990 preparations. 
• Preparation of agency annual budget.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field
• Certified Public Accountant and or master’s preferred
• Five years’ experience in nonprofit accounting and/or financial analysis
• Knowledge of Microsoft software packages, including Excel, Word, and Access
• Familiarity with not-for-profit environment and software
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organization skills
• Valid driver’s license, car, and current insurance policy

• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
