The Opportunity The Assistant Director FP&A assists with the oversight and management of the Financial Planning and Analysis function of Finance. You will support the stewardship of university resources and team support, and assists to further develop a financial planning organization that has a comprehensive understanding of all main goals, and delivers financial plans, reports, and analyses to financial and business management throughout the university. You will help deliver value-added financial reporting and business analyses and defining and reporting meaningful financial and operational metrics that lead to and insightful business decision-making. Primary Responsibilities: Assist a team in the preparation of management reports, analyses, and pro-forma financial statements. Collaborate with functional leaders in developing their annual plan and forecasts. Develop and deliver operational metrics, expense analysis, and other main metrics. Assist leaders to develop financial action plans for improvement and optimization. Help analyze financial performance versus forecast and plan, investigate variances, and communicate findings and recommendations to FP&A leadership and other Finance leaders. Design goals and strategies to enhance professional development opportunities for direct reports. Other responsibilities as assigned. Job responsibilities can change at any time, with or without notice. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of eight years of progressive accounting and finance experience with four years of supervisory experience Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited college or university Required skills in financial planning, financial modeling and analysis, and capital planning Well-rounded leadership background, with a focus on planning for staff development Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across numerous teams of a medium sized organization 3 years of experience leading /growing teams 3 years experience implementing and using enterprise performance management suites 3 years of experience summarizing results and producing financial reports Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Preferred Qualifications: MBA Preferred Experience with data retrieval and reporting systems such as Workday, Anaplan, Hyperion/Oracle, SAP, and/or other EPM solutions Strong skills in excel, BI, Access and Query Active certification (CFA, CPA, CMA, etc) Thinking about the job, but not sure you should apply?
