Southern Illinois Eyecare is Hiring an Optician Near Chester, IL

Join our team at Southern Illinois Eyecare! We are now hiring a full-time Optician.

Southern Illinois Eyecare is dedicated to providing excellent care to patients throughout Du Quoin, Sparta, Pinckneyville, and Chester. We are looking for someone to join our team that has a passion to provide the best experience to all of our patients which is why we are looking for an energetic, hardworking, and trustworthy team member!

Responsibilities:

  • Review spectacle prescriptions and orders based on medical charts
  • Operate lensometer and other tools to achieve proper fittings for patients
  • Educate patients on their corrective lens options and help them make a choice that fits their medical needs as well as lifestyle preferences
  • Provide honest but compassionate feedback about aesthetic choices in frames
  • Manage inventory of frames to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and product variety
  • Communicate with physician with questions or concerns about prescriptions

Pay rate dependent on experience. Optical experience or retail sales experience preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
